Pyroclastic Socks

On this blog, you have two choices: bad photos or no photos.  Photographing socks while wearing them is awkward at best.  If you want to see good photos of this sock pattern, check out the Knitty website.  The yarn?  Hmmm... people give me yarn, I lose the little tags, I don't know yarn well enough to identify it by touch.  I can identify fabric simply by touching it.  My husband has quizzed me on this in more than one fabric store.  He has yet to stump me.  I don't have enough experience with yarn to do that.  Even with the little tag, I am not entirely sure what it is.

The knitting was fast.  I like the stripe on the bottom of the foot.  Ok, no one gets to see it, but I know it is there.  It also made knitting the bottom of the sock a little more interesting.  The leg is very stretchy and comfortable to wear.  Maintaining the correct number of stitches while narrowing the patterned area was a little tricky.  On the first sock, there was a bit of unknitting involved.  The second went better because I knew I had to pay better attention while decreasing the patterned area.

I already have another pair of socks on the needles.  Socks are a great project to take on subbing days.  The students always ask to see what I am knitting.

Stay tuned... there will more socks.  I may never buy socks again.
